Welcome to my blog

Ryan Cruise is CEO of Cruise Media Group, founder of Momentum Health Network (MHN) and co-founder of Canadian Health Media Network (CHMN),

MHN reaches over 35 million people and is growing fast in one of the fastest growing media sectors, Digital out of Home (DOOH).  This fast growing and rather new medium works in perfect harmony with the exploding sector of Social Media.


I founded Cruise Media Group in 2006 with no real understanding of media but a strong personal interest and desire to do something that made a difference.  When I learnt that I didn’t know anything about the space in which we just invested a couple million dollars, I got to work and fast…

In 2000 I was given a book that changed my life.  More than just the messages of the book, it made me realize there was so much knowledge out there, all I needed to do was absorb it. With this in mind I committed to reading a new book every week on my areas of interest in business.  I spent 6 years reading and learning everything I could about how business and money works.  One day the president of the company I was working for said something to me that hit me like a bolt of lightning. He said, “You’ve read all these books on ‘how’, you better find out ‘why’”.  WELL… that can mean different things but for me it meant that I needed to know what I was going to do with the knowledge I had and more importantly why I’m doing it at all.

I became a dream setter; much different than setting goals.  I figured out what I wanted for myself and my family, found a way to make a difference and asked myself “can I make money doing it?” The spreadsheets told me I could so we jumped in.  This brings me back to my earlier point about landing in media and realizing I knew nothing about it. I had business covered; now I went to work to learn media, advertising, public relations and social media like a crazed lunatic.

Minus the recession, the past 4 years in media have been incredibly good to me.  I have met fascinating people that head up many of the large media companies in North America. I have developed great relationships with gurus, icons, legends and rock stars of our industry, some of whom have made profound differences to the world with their contributions.  It’s these mentors and advisors that have helped shape my own philosophies.

And so it is with this Blog that I hope to share ideas, concepts and insights about Media, Advertising and Public Relations.
